FOR TEACHERS:

Energy City of the Future is an enterprising urban planning competition for middle and high school age students that engages problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and creativity in developing a vision for Houston in the year 2050. This competition is an excellent way for students to dig into and explore their chosen endorsements!

FOR STUDENTS:

Student teams research and ultimately present their innovative concepts for future forms of energy production and plans for transportation, recreation, education and healthcare that will enhance the future city’s sustainability and attractiveness to its citizens and new residents. Students explore their potential for becoming industry leaders capable of envisioning the urban planning solutions of tomorrow.

Best of all, there’s a chance to earn scholarships by placing in the top of the competition. Are you ready to get started?

FOR VOLUNTEERS:

Students and teachers appreciate how community volunteers share their professional expertise and life lessons. If you are able to devote two or more hours of your time to assist us on May 14, 2016, you can be a judge, career panelist, or both for our Houston: Energy City of the Future Competition. Please call Douglas Kleiner at 713-696-8290 or email him at dkleiner@hcde-texas.org. We greatly appreciate your service!

The best part of today was meeting many people from other schools and people from different companies who gave me valuable advice and input.
